Biserica Sf. Grigorie Palama

This is the church in the campus of Polytechnica University in Bucharest. It was built from 1993 until 1999, when was blessed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinopol,
on 26-th of October, on the feast of Saint Dimitrie the Myrbearer.

It is one of the universitarian churches in Bucharest, and from the beggining of the building had the blessing also of Father Dumitru Staniloae.

It is located in the very nice campus of University Politechnica of Bucharest, in the space between the university buildings and students’ hostels. It is opened every day, all day long, for everyone who need to be there.

From the architechture of the church may be remarked the narrow windows with yellow glass both from the nave of the church and from dome. These were special projected since the beginning, together with the idea of the light only from bees-wax candles of candelabrum and at the altar. All these, inspired from the churches at Mount Athos, have as an effect an intimate authentic atmosphere inside the church, even for the services held during the day.

Se află în frumosul campus al Universităţii Politehnica din Bucureşti, între universitate şi căminele studenţeşti. Este deschisă în fiecare zi, pentru toţi cei care doresc să fie acolo.

Din arhitectura bisericii pot fi remarcate ferestrele înguste, din sticlă de culoare galbenă, atât cele din interiorul bisericii cât şi cele din turla principală. Acestea au fost proiectate special încă de la început, la fel ca şi ideea de a avea lumină în biserica numai de la lumânările din ceară curată de la candelabru şi cele de lângă altar. Toate acestea, inspirate de altfel de la Sfântul Munte, crează o atmosferă intimă şi autentică în interiorul bisericii, chiar şi la slujbele din timpul zilei
